Description
View of Coral Gables Congregational Church tower with blue skies and palm fronds. The church was designed in 1923 in the Spanish Baroque style and started by George Merrick as part of his grand design for Coral Gables. It was added to the US National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
Coral Gables was envisioned by George Merrick to be the "Mediterranean Riviera" and draw the wealthy and prominent in the 1920's.
See other examples of Coral Gables architecture at my Coral Gables gallery which includes the Alhambra Water Tower and the Country Club of Coral Gables, among others.
