Artist's Description

View of the corner of Sunset Lane and Whitehead Street in Key West, just a block or so from Mallory Square, with the red bricked Key West Custom House, home of the Key West Museum of Art & History, which is on the US National Register of Historic Places. The Custom House, which is actually on Front Street, opened in 1891 to provide court, customs, and postal services, among others.

I've been a photographer most of my life, starting very young with a Kodak Instamatic camera. There were a few others over some years and in my mid-twenties a Canon EOS 630 (film camera) which I used extensively. Then I quit for a while. Can't say I know why, life happens. Some years ago I decided I would commit to what I knew had long been an important part of my life. It has been good in many ways, mostly because it lets me see the world around me as a place to enjoy and share. There is much that goes on around us that is negative and depressing, to say the least. It lifts my spirits to find other views that show there is much to be grateful for and much that others might find inspiring although they might never get the chance to see...
